This is Gordon Lightfoot.

I’m not his biggest fan, but I adore this song.  “Morning-after blues from my head down to my shoes/Carefree highway, let me slip away on you,” is one of those lyrics that stays with you and spontaneously pops into your head every so often just to make you nostalgic for the last time it popped into your head.

If I had to pick a personal anthem (and Mitchell’s entire catalog were off the table), then it’d be a toss-up between this song and Jim Croce’s “I Got a Name.”
